Intermediate Diving course - Open Water
This has to be the most popular dive course in the world leading to a fully recognised certification, allowing diving to a maximum depth of 18 meters adults, 12 meters for junior open water.
In most all parts of the world and in particular where coral reefs are abundant, most all you will wish to see is rarely below 12 meters. The coral reefs in Egypt for instance have prolific fish life most around six to ten meters.
As with all PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) training courses a period of self-study is undertaken in your own time. When you sign onto a course, you will receive a crew pack, which amongst other things contains a dive manual and Recreational Dive Planner the RDP.
To help you work through this manual there are optional training aids in the form of the PADI Open Water Diver Video or the interactive CD-ROM, all designed to allow you to work at your own pace.
Training is performance-based learning. You are able to check your own performance with "knowledge reviews" in the training manual, which you keep.
The course consists of five classroom sessions normally completed in one day, five-confined water sessions completed in one day and four open dives, two dive's per day which would be run over four days, normally two week ends. Much the same format as The Scuba Diver program.
Training schedules can be as flexible as you require with all modules being broken down and delivered suiting your individual needs, even in your own home if your not to far from the centre. Alternatively, the whole package can be delivered in two weekends.
There is a degree of stamina required for this course. You must be able to swim 200m, any style and stay afloat for 10 min.
The Referral.
An option for those wishing to undertake the classroom and pool sessions only in this country and complete the remaining four open water dive's elsewhere or even on a holiday saving your valuable holiday time.
This package can be completed in one weekend (2 days) or as above at your leisure and even in your own home. (Theory only).
