For those people wishing to maximise there hobby and dive all year round, in particular around the shores of main land UK where the water temperature is a little less than that found in the Red Sea for instance may wish to use a Dry Suit.

This course covers the knowledge and techniques of dry suit diving. The minimum number of recommended hours is 12 with two open water dives and emphasis placed on dry suit operation, principles, care and diving techniques.

The following is included in the Dry Suit Diver course:

  • The planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of dry suit diving
  • Proper procedures for buoyancy control
  • Ascent and descent technique training
  • Routine, user-level, preventative maintenance and performance checks on dry suits
If a Dry Suit Elective dive is conducted during the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or Advanced Plus course, it may be counted toward the certification requirements for this specialty at the discretion of the instructor conducting the specialty course.

If the above has not been undertaken a confined water session will be completed before any open water training is given.

Prerequisite for Certification

PADI Open Water Diver, PADI Junior Open Water Diver or equivalents and be over 12 years old.
