Speciality Diving courses - Underwater Naturalist Diver
The course will expand your knowledge of the aquatic environment and equip you with a basic understanding. The content of this course is non-academic and is designed to encourage further study.
Particular attention is given to dispelling myths about potentially dangerous aquatic life by providing accurate, factual information about animals such as eels, jellyfish and others. The module is also open to non-divers who only need participate in the classroom sessions.
During the course the following will be covered:
- The planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of diving in different aquatic environments
- A basic overview of major aquatic life groupings (kingdoms and phyla)
- Factual information that dispels myths of potentially dangerous aquatic life
- An overview of basic aquatic life interactions and associations
- Responsible human interactions with aquatic life
- Diving technique used to help preserve bottom dwelling aquatic life and minimize aquatic life disturbance
The recommended course duration is 12 hours with two open water dives over a period of two days.
Prerequisite for Certification
